During the course of your orthodontic treatment, it may be necessary to use appliances in addition to braces or Invisalign. Here are a few examples of what we use to help give you a beautiful, long-lasting smile:
Rubber Bands (Elastics): These small rubber bands help move the teeth and correct the bite to a healthy position.
Forsus: Works similar to rubber bands to help move the teeth and correct the bite, but is placed by the orthodontist instead of the patient.
Expander: Used when the upper jaw is not as wide as the bottom jaw, or when we need more space in the upper jaw.
TPA: Holds the width of the upper jaw in a stable position.
Schwartz: Widens your lower teeth by tipping them outwards.
Lower Lingual Arch: Prevents the lower molars from drifting forward when the baby teeth fall out.
Headgear: Allows us to manipulate how your jaws grow so that we can obtain a healthy bite.
