Rubber Bands (Elastics)

Our orthodontists may use small rubber bands or elastics to help move your teeth and correct your bite.

Forsus

A forsus is an appliance the functions similar to elastics, but is placed by the orthodontist rather than the patient, and is non-removable.

Expander: Used when the upper jaw is not as wide as the bottom jaw, or when we need more space in the upper jaw.

TPA: Holds the width of the upper jaw in a stable position.

Schwartz: Widens your lower teeth by tipping them outwards.

Lower Lingual Arch: Prevents the lower molars from drifting forward when the baby teeth fall out.

Headgear: Allows us to manipulate how your jaws grow so that we can obtain a healthy bite.
